Jules’ Diner – Chili Dog Sauce

Who doesn’t love chili dogs?  I suppose there must be someone.  I’ve never met them, but if I did I’d make this for them. It’s not exactly irresistable…but, it comes close.

Chili Dog Sauce

1/2 pound ground beef
1 small can tomato paste
1-2 cups beef broth
2 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp cider vinegar
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp chili powder
1 tbsp paprika
1 tsp prepared yellow mustard
House seasoning to taste

1. In a large skillet brown the ground beef till fully cooked, season to taste with house seasoning and drain. Transfer to a food processor. Pulse until the ground beef is a very fine consistency.

2. Add the beef broth to the skillet and deglaze the pan. Add all remaining ingredients to skillet and warm over medium heat till sauce comes together. Add beef broth till just smooth, but not runny.

3. Return the ground beef to the skillet and blend ingredients well. Cover and simmer on low 15 minutes.

4. Serve on all-beef dogs and top with diced onions.
